Highlights
This release features a couple of improvements and new features. The MRV’s selection of commodity crops has expanded to include Flax, Millet, and Mustard. These selections will be shown for producers in projects where these have been activated. Each MRV project will have its own Crops module setting and can have a different selection of crops visible to the producer. Once the project has activated the selection, the producer uses those selections in the planting and harvest events. Additionally, the harvest event was updated to allow producers to enter their yield with up to two decimal places.
One of the improvements included in this release includes a change to the MRV’s work-flow and validation process. Field creation and editing will now include GIS checks that will be stored with the field. The Fields and Practice Changes module’s submission will utilize these stored checks to improve the performance of the submission. This release also included a fix to handle the bug on the producer invitation. Producer accounts can continue to be created prior to the email invitation going out. The producers that have never received an invitation will show an “invite” button on the MRV’s administrative pages. This button previously functioned and sent an invite but required two clicks to show an updated button status (re-invite). The producer invitation has been fixed and the MRV administrative user will see the correct button to avoid sending two invitations. The full list of release notes has been included below.
Added Features
- The MRV’s Crops module was updated to allow harvest yields with decimals. Yield values are now able to be captured to the nearest hundredths.
- Fields have GIS intersections done on creation and edit. This check is stored for improved performance during the Fields and Practice Changes module submission. These checks are the same that were previously done and currently include protected areas (PAD-US), roadways, railways, and known water-bodies. When the user submits, the validation is done using the existing data point.
- The Fields and Practice Changes submission was also improved by optimizing the checks being run. The MRV will no longer run the series of checks on the submission plus confirmation. If the producer confirms their submission, the issues found (if any) are committed to the MRV’s database.
- Additional validation has been added to the MRV for the producer’s Fields and Practice Changes module. Producers will no longer be able to submit a future year until their previous year has been reviewed.
- Additional crops have been added into the MRV’s Crops module. Users will now have the ability to select Flax, Millet, or Mustard as planting/harvest options. This crop selection would still be dependent on the project’s crop options. Once the project has activated these crops, they will be shown in the producer’s Crops module.
Known Issues
- Producers that have self-registered on the registration page will show a status of N/A on the MRV’s admin pages. Once the producer’s enrollment request is approved or denied, the producer’s status will be updated.
- The Fields and Practice Changes Review & Final Review and Submission modules require the user to save before the comments and markings are saved in the database. If the reviewer leaves the review before saving their progress, it will not be saved and the reviewer will need to start over.
Fixed Issues
- The MRV’s administrative pages will show a button to invite/re-invite a producer. Once the producer has completed their registration, these buttons will no longer show. The invite button previously required two clicks until it changed to “re-invite”. This has been fixed and the button will show the correct state.
- Updated logic supporting DNDC submission.
